PPPRA workers shutdown operations over 2 acting heads

Members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) yesterday shutdown operations at the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) over the emergence of two acting heads in the agency, Leadership reports.

The workers were protesting the sudden arrival of another acting Executive Secretary, Mrs Sotonye Iyoyo, under alleged suspicious circumstances, only a few days after the immediate past Executive Secretary, Farouk Ahmed handed over to the agency’s most senior officer, Moses Mbaba in acting capacity.

The workers claimed that Iyoyo’s sudden arrival is contrary to the directive of the government which asked the former executive secretary to hand over to the agency’s most senior officer. Ahmed handed over to Mbaba last Thursday.
