Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Group Executive Director (Commercial and Investments), Dr. Babatunde Adeniran, has said that the corporation would adopt a two- way approach to ensure steady supply of petroleum products in the country going forward, Vanguardreports.
The two-way approach, he disclosed, includes first, the mass importation of petroleum products as soon as the winter period in Europe was over, when the refineries would have completed their configurations and begin to churn out more products and second, as regards the storage of locally refined petroleum products in strategic storage tanks to stave off future occurrences of scarcity.
Adeniran, said this in Edo State at the weekend, shortly after visiting some petrol stations in the state to ascertain the fuel shortage in the state. He also appealed to those vandalizing pipelines to desist from doing so, adding that Nigerians should learn to preserve amenities put in place for their use. He appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the government as everything was done be done to normalize the current scarcity situation.
