NCDMB urges oil companies to employ more Nigerians

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has implored oil companies operating in the country to always employ Nigerians who are experts in the industry, rather than allowing foreigners to dominate the sector, The Punch reports.

The Acting Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Mr. Patrick Obah, made this appeal at a workshop on youth sensitisation and enlightenment held in Igbokoda, Ondo State.

Obah, who informed the participants about the mandate of the NCDMB and its activities, said there were relevant skills in the oil and gas industry which the youths needed to acquire, adding that the host communities and the youths could benefit from the Industry Content Development Act 2010. He also appealed to the youths from the Niger Delta region to look for available means to access opportunities in the oil and gas industry through the board.
